We are Na Seanchaí, the Story Tellers.
Who we are
Na Seanchaí Productions was founded in 2019 by Éamonn McNicholas and Laura Thompson. Our goal is to work together in collaboration with our community to tell the stories most important to us though the medium of the performing arts. Let’s bring these stories to life.
Éamonn McNicholas
Éamonn is a native of Straide, Co. Mayo, who now divides his time between Mayo and Dublin. Initially treading a more traditional career part by studying Engineering in University, the GFC in 2008 resulted in a reassessment of some life choices, and adventure awaited as he swapped unemployment for travel, emigrating to New Zealand in 2011.
It was whilst living in Queenstown on the South Island of New Zealand that Éamonn’s love of performance and theatre was reignited and he began to consider the pursuit of a life in the performance arts as not just a dream, but a necessity. During the proceeding years he delved into performance and training, studying with a number of teachers in New Zealand, Australia, and New York.
Upon his return to Ireland in 2016, Éamonn continued his training and has worked extensively with Momentum Acting Studio and Helena Walsh Voice and Acting Studio. His proudest achievement to date is a collaboration with a young Dublin writer, Ste Maguire, on his play ‘NOEL’, in which he played a lead role, and for which the production won the Outstanding Theatre Award at the 2018 Galway Fringe Festival.
